just got round to take some pics of this army lid, vet purchased by another forum member the vet was a member of the famous OZARKS division
who fought in central europe against the toughest ss and army troops the germans could throw at them. his division took part in the surrender of 6 german divisions in 1945 including some which had fought in the ardennes
the helmet was once coated in a winter wash and some still remains! the former owner might read this so thankyou for selling this great helmet......

anyones guess as to when or where he picked it up but it seems most likely that he aquired it when his division took the surrender of the 6 german divisions in 1945......

Yep. Albert was a good man! He told me some stories. I remember that helmet.
