Have acquired a new Army dagger. Paul Seilheimer, maker. I own 2 of these very hard to find beauties. Both are as NMint as the description implies. EARLY, 1st style WKC fittings and scabbard, tapered tang, and beautiful grips. Was surprised to find both wearing WKC fittings, but Seilheimer didn't produce their own fittings so all seems to be normal....

How about some Paul Seilheimer? Here are 2 I own. Both have tapered tangs and the Early brass based, 1st style WKC fittings and earliest WKC scabbards.
One is personalized while the other is a plain Jane. Both are at least NMint if not better.
Pretty darned hard to find, these Paul Seilheimer products....
Inscription on my newest Seilheimer reads "From the NCOs of the 12th Company Reserve Battalion Feb 21, 1937" This dagger also came with a set of hangers that appear to be gilted.....
Both are Pretty special piece in any case......
Both carry the earliest mark Seilheimer used. Denny

Those are beautiful daggers, Denny.
I'd almost be willing to wager that one came from the Jesse Jackson collection up near Boston.

DD You've hit the nail on the head.....A Bostonian has crept into my collection. I saw this a while back and was fortunate enough to have the gentleman allow it leave his soccer team atmosphere and come to live down here in the South. It is a beauty. Every time I hold it I want to shake a leg..... Denny

Hi Paul, i have seen the Dog on a Luft - i belive that PS with the sword is primarily found on Seilheimer swords. of course happy to be proved wrong. Tony

Roy SOLD it? I'd like to see a pic of that Army. Don't recall seeing an Army marked like that, but I know they did make 'em. Denny

Denny: I have it now. That's why I asked you to contact me If your Selheimers are in better condition than mine, I wouldn't mind working a trade with you. Roy's was in very nice shape, but not as nice as I wanted. Yours look to be in minty shape, though they don't have as-rare a trademark. Sounds like a match made in heaven!

Craig I'll sit on these. Took me a while to find specimens like this and not ready to deactivate any Armys. Thanks just the same.

Here are a couple of very old photos of a Seilheimer army that I used to own with the "dog" logo. Please overlook the quality of the photos since they were taken several years ago with a very early digital camera. Digital cameras have come a long way since then. The dagger did not have a scabbard and the blade was pretty rough so I sold it a long time ago.

Monty That's a good one. I meant to say, "hold them" as you know..... BUT I do seem to sit on the Armys.......... Doug Thanks for the pics. The picture of the "dog w/sword" is interesting from the point of view that I have always believed the "PS in a circle" logo was earliest as Wittmann also wrote in his Army book. Since they didn't make their own fittings, guess it should be no surprise to find many different types on their daggers. Maybe other pwners of Paul Seilheimers will chide in and tell us what type fittings are on their PSs... Paul Thanks........

Denny great looking daggers you always seem to find the good stuff. Nice to see they are both dressed the same in Early WKC fittings. Also great to see the other examples posted that dog maker mark is really great even though I am a cat person.

About one year (or little more) TTW has had one with the dog w/ sword trademark but I did not buy it due to the too weak blade. Regards.

Yes Degens, maybe an early Weyersberg. No, grip has not thinner segments: it's a type B
