Paul, thanks for your reply. Do you mean it's a : -recent copy or -a commemorative badge from the early twenties, so after the WW1, but still something not original. -a fantasy piece? When it is a good one ( if it excisted)....I think it should be a service cap badge after WW1 , but possibly it isn't? Benten

Hi I have seen this before and believe that it is a good piece post WW1 and at one time was on a piece of feldgrau or an armband.

Hi Benten, I've got to agree with Paul. The age and quality tell me this is something authentic and original. I also had a brief thought about an imperial Kinderuniform? Paul's probably a lot closer to the mark with his opinion.. Thanks for the nice shots mate! Bill

Bill, glad to hear you also think it's an original badge.
I searched for more badges on internet and found only on ebay the same badge ...however with 4 thread-shaped spongs. Here a picture of that badge; unfortunatelly only 14 kb, so it's not too clear.

Gents, If the price doesn't go crazy, it'd sure be nice to own them both, eh? Original zeppelin collectibles are very sophisticated these days and have been so for a long, long time. For those who might be tempted, please, do your homework before purchasing, dabbling, investing, what or however ..! Know your stuff or go to people who do, young brothers. Let's see more zeppelin and flight-related material. Anyone got any of the old fighter ace postcards they could share? Bill

Benten, Yes, an old friend whose judgement I trust contacted me about your badge and says it's an original cap badge, no doubt about it ... Again, thanks for letting us have a look. Bill
