looks bad to me,,markings and ill defined swas on front make me wary Robert

Indeed a reproduction. The best reproduction ever made to date but still a reproduction of the well known 155/43.

Thank you very much for your feedback! This is not what I wanted to hear but it is what it is a fake. I am getting sick and tired of these fakes that our out there. I wish there was more we could do about this. Thank you again for letting me know! JME

There is two very well done reproductions (fakes) of the Assmann production: this one (155/43) and another marked 155/40. Both are reproducing originals marked the same. At current moment, those two are the closest from an original ever made. But, like with any reproduction, many details are able to tell which one is which. The first production (circa 1999) had his postsleeve / prongs assembly not placed correctly. Its result was that a genuine german WWII combat leather belt (WH, LW, SS, etc ...) was not able to fit in the buckle. It is still possible to find those earlier production but it is now corrected. I will NOT give all details fake vs. original in public forums since it is helping fakers to improve their production. But here is an original 155/43 to compare to. Quickly overall the same buckle but if you start to pay real attention many differences are obvious. Fakes are always like the above posted example. Original (155/43 Type 1) always like the original posted below.
