Hey Guys

Just finishing up a two week buying trip in Michigan for my web site, and let me tell you its been very rewarding. Today I picked up this pilots observer badge out of the wood work along with a flag, and Italian flag. No maker, but it has the look of a GWL. Sorry for the bad photos I don't have my lighting rig with me so this will have to do for now. Let me know what you all think.

Hey Mann

Thanks for the compliment. I have never owned one before, and its a screamer. Any of the luft badge experts know if this one has the style of a GWL. Thanks.

I was going to say GWL right away but will look. More important did you record the provinence of this badge ? As this is one always looked at with a jaundized eye the more paperwork the better.

Hello,

A very nice badge, similar to a GWL, but not a GWL. This model is always unmarked and is known as the unknown maker. Experienced collectors believe this badge to be made by "FLL" (Fredrich Linden Ldenscheid). Please do a search with "Pilot Observer Unknown Maker" on Wehrmacht-Awards and you will see for yourself.

Hey Stephane

Thanks for the info. I did a little digging, and i guess the Box is made by GWL or was made for GWL Badges. It looks amazing under the light Condition is choice all around. Any one else

Very nice! I agree that it is most likely made by FLL, not GWL. They were both Ludenschied makers, so it makes sense that they may have shared the same artist to design their badges.

The hardware used on this is exactly the same as found on FLL CCCs & PABs.
