Everything I see is what I would expect on a good dagger.
Lots of wear and someone might have tried to remove the eagle, but it looks good.

It has the toad body grip typical of the 121/34's and it looks like it could be true ebony. The only SS dagger I have owned that I believed to have an ebony grip is a 121/34. Although your photo does not show it, I'm sure that the SS code and RZM markings read from the grip downward toward the tip. The internal crossguard markings are most likely EW. Nice original vertical hanger with belt loop. Looks like a 48/34.

Thank you How can you tell if it is made of ebony? Do you need better pictures?

The only way that you can tell for sure that it is ebony is if it sinks in water. Ebony has a specific gravity greater than 1.00 so it sinks. Other species of wood used in political daggers have a specific gravity less than 1.00 and they float. Obviously I'm not saying that you should try this!

As stated a nice dagger that you can be happy with with the added benefit of a nice verticle hanger. cheers, Ryan
