Gents,

Wanting to know what I have here. I picked this helmet up last weekend here in Germany. This helemt is very diffrent than most M35's I have seen. This has no stamping numbers or size on the interior that i can see I have looked very closely with no luck. There seems to be several diffrent colors green being the base color then a lighter tan on top of that then a mustard sand color on top of that but i could be wrong but there is a definate green under coat. The paint is textured with sand of some sort. As you can see from the pictures it has the remince of a overpainted heer decal. I am trying to get some good picture from inside light but I may have to wait until morning for full day light to really do the helmet justice. Have been having difficulty posting the photos. if i could send them to someone to post that would be most helpful. thanks in advance- Greg

I have never handled one of these - they are quite rare and unusual. I have heard some say that these were made for tankers. Does anyone know the real story?

1. Here are two M35 ET64 marked shells. The standard M35 (L) and short skirt version (R).

Very interesting thread...so what is the story?
Modified for Panzers, several have surfaced in the last month. Italianwarfront posted a very convincing example..

Here is a similar short skirt number from another forum.

1. Greg: I do not believe your helmet to be the short skirt version, I believe it to be a British M35 clone. Clones have no markings inside like yours. I saw it for sale on Ebay and saw the inside rim roll. It is consistent with the clones.
The short skirt helmets that I have seen were ET marked.
I cannot comment on the decal, paint, liner, or ventbushings.
