Just to show picture of this Heer that I've just find in a familie who have it untouched since the war.
It's interesting to see the difference of colour of the grip behind the knot (due to the light).

Absolutely GREAT!!!
Not only is this a fantastic heer but it also shows that grips change color due to light undisputably!!! Not just to the exposure to, and perhaps even in examption from, the air. I am waiting for the person, or the opportinuty myself, to test the color change in the original period grips based on light and air exposure seperately controlled for...

I know that a similar test has been conducted but I do not believe that air and light were controlled for individually.
I have the means to do it, if anyone has the bits of period grip to test...
