I finally finished my display cabinet and can now store my daggers out of the scabbard - is it advisable to slightly oil the blades or shall I leave them dry ?

Nice display.I would leave them dry. Just keep the humidity under 55% to be safe.Treat them like a gun wipe off finger prints.

thanks for your advise Zorro
to keep humidity down is a bit hard here in the subtropics but since they are easily accessable I can keep a close eye on them

after proper cleaning of the blades, spray them with a liquid silicone spray-stand them upright to dry and them they will be protected from the humidity-Mike

Before applying Renwax do you need to clean them with something special or does a good clean with a soft cloth do the job?
should I remwax the blades only or the whole daggers?
Thanks
Helmut

I live in a damp humid area & I have used renwax to protect my daggers and have had no problems whatsoever. I apply it to the whole dagger and it gives a wonderful lustre as well as protection. Wink Lovely cabinet and display BTW!
