Hi everybody, i'am a young belgian, i' have a litle collection. I'm 21 years old.
I'd like to have your opinions about this two hj knife, they doesn't have the blunt und Ehre. The first is a eikchorn made with rzm but the blade is in bad state and the scabbard is false. For me the eickhorn markings is good but the handle is bizare certainly gone up after the war. The second is a M7/51/42 ( Anton Wingen Jr ) , the scabbard had the two arises.
Thank you for your opinions.
Ps: excuse me for my bad english.

Hello Vince,
The first one (Eickhorn) has only an original blade and hilt and is in not in good shape, not worth collecting in my opinion (but that depends of the standards you set for yourself), the value would be very low anyway.
The second one (Anton Wingen JR) looks good, original from what I can see on those dark pictures. A sharp close-up of the diamond is needed to judge it. It is a collectable late knife in my opinion.
If you have to choose, it is easy, go for the Wingen even if it costs several times the price of the Eickhorn.

Vince,
That diamond looks fine to me. If it wiggles, it is even better!
L'insigne est original mon avis, si a bouge un peu quand tu pousse lgrement sur les parties blanches, mieux c'est.
Best greetings,
Herman

I'look the diamond and it's wiggles. For you the anthon jr is good ? I like to know the matter of the pommel on the original hj knife.
Thank you very much for your help

This Anton Wingen JR is an original HJ knife, it was made in 1942, so the pommel is probably made of plated zinc and therefore non-magnetic. During the earlier years the pommels of HJ knifes were made of iron/steel.

That is strange for a 1942 knife. Can you show a picture of the reverse grip rivets (other side than the diamond) and a close-up of he pommel and guards?

Vince,
The grip fittings of your knife look poor, but they could be original, because the rivets look like the typical variety that Anton Wingen used on his later knifes...
I have the same knife but from 1940 (see pictures) I will check this weekend if the pommel of the knife is magnetic.
Best greetings,
Herman

Vince,
My 1940 Anton Wingen has also a magnetic hilt and pommel, it appears like this company had still a good supply of iron and steel during the war when most other companies were using zinc on their pommels.
So your knife is 100% original in my opinion.
Best greetings,
Herman
