Hi Eric. From a value stand-point, the damage has already been done since the parts are mixed up. But, When did this occur? If it was post-war, then no problem "fixing" the mix-up. But if these were mixed during wartime rebuilds, you are messing with legitimate variations.

I too have a bayonet that appears to be quite mixed up. It appears to be a wartime rebuild, and has been together like this from the end of the war. I have no intention of screwing with it, even though it would be very easy to correct some of the "errors".
