I have obtained a Carl Wusthof 2nd Luft.I state this with some hesitation because I cannot find any mention of this maker in relation to Lufts in either this forum or TWs Luft book but he does mention Wusthof buying in parts to produce Heer daggers. There is also a post re a CW Heer.
To my novice eyes the maker's mark and blade look ok and the tang has a ridge running along the side. The gilted pommel and crossguard would appear to be by Eickhorn and there are traces of gilt inside the pommel.
I would value comments from others and welcome criticism but would appreciate the reasons for the criticism so that I can learn from it.

Ian,
The mark looks fine. I have an army with the same maker and the mark sits high on the blade like yours. It is partially covered by the crossguard. The pommel is frozen and I won't try to force it, so I can't check the tang. Nice rare dagger. Looks like somebody went crazy cleaning it.

Looks nice!

Very nice dark orange grip. The gold on the scabbard looks interesting, what is that?
