Has anyone ever seen an engraved 2nd Luft by Herder before now? The blade is plated, but has been slightly rusted and cleaned over time.

Ron:

We know that Herder and Voos and Klaas had some kind of business or personal relationship because we see Klaas type bayonet etches on Voos and Herder bayonets.

It would not be a stretch to imagine that while Voos and Herder were buying their etched bayo blades from Klaas, that Klaas and Herder would be buying the unmarked Voos army and Luft2 etched blades from Voos.

Herder would then apply its maker mark to the unmarked blade.

My opinion, of course.

Ron,

How does the dagger itself measure up, do the parts appear to be those associated with a Herder 2nd Luft? Does the blade, aside from the Herder mark appear to be correct for a period etched blade? I haven't seen anything like this before but as we all know, anything's possible.

The eagle doesn't appear to have the "buzzard "head or does it.If not that is a +

The eagle is just as the Voos appears. I believe it is a Voos produced blade for Herder.
