There is a curiosity with the unknown. There are many children wanting to know there parents they have never seen or havent seen for many years. A perfect example would be the commandant leader of Plaszow work camp ( Amon Goethe)a very real character. His daughter finally found out about his past, she was quite saddened but relieved to close a long unanswered chapter in her life. I would say be very sensitive to Kuthers sons wishes. If it was happening to me, secretly I would want to know about my fathers past. I would grant his sons wish but I would be extremely discreet about it. I hope this helps.
