agree back side pic needed, however, not ss as im sure you typed in error but sa, looks good, like castle im not to sure of chain either, promising though.

Both the SS and SA used this type of gorget. The chain looks like the links are thicker than normal. Could be a maker trait.I think both the chain and gorget are original.

I think it's a 100% legit SA/SS cornet gorget. I owned one few years ago and I found the old pictures of the gorget itself and photos from the reference book "Gorgets of the 3rd Reich" by Richard E. Deeter and Warren W. Odegard. You can see both SA and SS flagbearers, including the famous Jacob Grimminger, who held the honored duty of flagbearer of the Blutfahne.

I think the SS used this one until 1938 when they switched to the big cool eagle looking one.
The SA & NSKK also used had these also with silver & brass roundels, which I believe would have matched the 'button color' for the particular SA group. I think the brass centered ones would not have been worn by the SS, just the silver centered ones as shown here. Some have a large RZM plate on the back with dark blue backing.
These are cool pieces~!
