Are all SM/1940 HJ daggers replica? This one has a pretty convincing diamond. SSman

My understanding is that SM/1940 knives are all post-war, but often using original parts. Looks to be a nice original diamond. Can you show the rest of the knife and scabbard?

Ruski. No scabbard with this one. I will take a few pics of the whole dagger and list them. SSman

I think it is all original parts but post-war stamped and/or assembled. I like the way the diamond is cut into the grip. Don't know what the 'SM' stands for, but this mark is not a recognised manufacturer of HJ's during the TR period. Still a nice example to have though - thanks for the extra pics.

Thanks for the info Ruski. aybe these were kind of like the B&A sa daggers? They might have been made to sell to GI's to take home? SSman

Yes, I think that's probably the reason.
