"Heavy" is not an adjective you should want to use for any original, regardless of material. It is a fake; I have no doubt. Send it back.

Thanks guys!I sent it back,my friend(a 40 year collector) said its not a fake, all m1/24 skulls are thick, its a 100% original zinc later war skull, but no one here seems to agree with him,way over my head, anyway the opinions are greatly appreciated. Smile

Strange wear pattern here, coupled with crummy prong attachment for sure.
It looks like the repair burned through on one side and was touched up?
This is/maybe the earlier style jawed TK as opposed to the "late war".
I trust that Brad and Roy are right.

Thanks again, here is another one I found on the net, looks like the same thing, except broken prongs instead of replaced ones.

First, I believe this style and make is early. not "late".

mine for comparison,
(They're starting to ALL look the same.) Confused
Solder job aside, I'm starting to like the first one best.
Heck, they both look good.
Razz
Cheers,
Pauli
Eric, good luck in your Matched set search.
I'm lacking the eagle half to my "set". Wink

Mann,These all look the same so they are either all fakes or all good?I thought the zinc skull and eagles were later, the early ones were copal/brass then aluminum and finally zinc.
