UR,

These are interesting bayonets. I have an identical one. First, let me say that I do not think these are Imperial Kaiserlische Schutztruppe markings. I think the late manufacture date in 1917 precludes shipment to Afrika at that time. The "1920" Reichswehr property stamp on the guard and slotted grip screws and press button certainly indicate that this bayonet was reworked and re-issued in Germany after circa 1927 when the new WuK bayonets were manufactured with these attributes. This "K.S.#" marking can be found in the 1930 Bavarian Police marking regulations for the Kar 98b and accessories. The mark indicates Sonderwagenstaffel der Kraftfahrabteilung for the Police Armored Squadron.

I believe the marking on your bayonet indicates the Armored Vehicle unit of the Bavarian Police circa 1930. A very scarce bayonet and perfectly original from what I can see in the photographs.
