Thir ring are made in silver 1000, the front are made on gold 14kt or 18. It is very similar to some dak rings. What you think?

From the apearance for me a typical campagne/souvenir ring. But such hallmark? 1000? Pure silver complete untypical and i think a little soft for a ring. I am real anxious on other opinions.

- yes a tourist ring for who ever happens to be occupying forces at the time!
There are some German pieces with such a content mark and there has been much discussion about them.. Don't know what Greece uses for hallmarks or content but I guess you have some research to do! As far as the ring itself, I like it..

Hey G,
If you have pictures I think it would be interesting for us to view them. If discussed on GDC I must have missed that thread. Can you post a link where it was discussed for us please. Thank you.

Mikee,, it was from the old days,,pretty sure the topic long gone.. Something about one of the Gau badges being specially made and in 1000 silver,,and I think there was also shown a German table medal in 1000. Years ago I had a German WW1 ring that was marked .990 ,that's the highest I've handled.
Any members with high marked silver rings,,lets say over 900? , 950? , 990?

Thanks G,
I've seen a few German shooting medals marked 990. A period German ring marked 1000 must be pretty dang rare? I've never encountered one myself..

Nice ring. Close plate and shoulders and yes, i think too, a not perfect stamped 900 hallmark.

benten,
Nice ring! I was wandering where you went off to. Good to see you back. It looks that way to me as well, stamped 900 it is.
But remember, it's not a "hallmark" and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

benten,
Wow! Nice ring! Thick band. What size is it and is it as heavy as it looks?
Because I'm a curious chap, if it were mine i'd test it just to see what the variances are if any. It would be interesting to know, but that's just me. Thank you for showing it.

I thought that pure silver would be too malleable to be useful as a ring. Would get dented if hit too hard (as many rings do...especially rings for a man). Alloys make elements stronger. Just thinking...

What about the fact that the stamped content numbers are always in rounded off whole numbers? Sterling silver is usually 92.5%, but what if the ring was made from 98% or 99% silver? Instead of stamping T980 or T990, could they have stamped T1000? Rounding up the number?
