Hi Guys! My friend is interested in both of these daggers I have. He is slightly concerned about the differences between the two. I dont want to put words in any ones mouth so I am asking you guys for your opinions on the two. Thanks! Bob

One's a Split Tail Himmler the other a Smooth-Tail Himmler. Both dedications look correct. The templet in the Smmoth tail is a little off center but no biggie. One sees that a lot.
No issues that I can see.

Cheers,

Hi, Gentelmens. Please explain me. In T.Wittmann and T.Johnson references books wrote the Eickhorn company has two logo with different tail in these period. Logo with squirrel has a serrated edge on tail etched on all type blades (including SS and SA Honor Dagger and SA High-Leader with Damascus blade)and catalogues, advertising, sword & dagger paper shipping bags, on presentation cases; etc. Logo with "squirrel has a smooth edge on tail" was looking only SA and SS honor dagger with Rohm and Himmler inscription, and never seen on Army, LW and other dagger. A lot of Himmler dagger and full Rohm inscription dagger has squirrel with smooth edge on tail. How can You convey these ideas? Sorry for my English. Best Den.
Buy Casberg sketches.

The photos look fine. Trigger brings up a good point. The mottoes vary slightly for the different trademarks.

I'm happy to see that the term "split tail" has finally caught on. Here's mine for comparison.

Hi Guys! I think it will never be known why we have two TM types found on Himmler daggers. Both have been found many times by veteran sources over the years. No one questions the authenticity of either, they are just different. There are many scenarios we could conjure of why the variation but to be honest, we will probably never know the true answer, all is speculation. Just another variation for us to consider adding to our collections?! Best Wishes, Bob
