Come on now some better photos! Is the SA the exact size as a dagger button?

Looks like someone made an impression in an existing ring and glued in a SA rune button.

very interesting going to take a look at some sa daggers today and see the sizes, as for the glued in theory the wear is consisted with the enamel and the s a sign dead flat measurements left right then top bottom are the same ,i would have liked to see the man who heated this up to 500c to pop the button in

Well, it is what it is. A modified ring with an SA button. Wasn't necessarily done last week, could have been 40 years ago, who knows ? I can see its nicely centered. What would be the neat for heat ?

Hhhmmm. Wotan being a specialist with daggers [and me just checking with my uncles SA he brought home] , its a SA dagger button..
That pillowing effect is from too much material being used and pushing in the button just at the right time.
Postwar? hate to say it but for a straight yes or no I'd go with a yes...... It's done pretty nice and the ring itself looks old. Maybe made for a vet. I have a ring from a German vet. Only thing he had left from WW 2 service was his ribbon bar. He had the long service eagle taken off the ribbon bar and put into a ring! This could be the situation with this, no dreaded swastika or SS runes..........
