OK guys - I need you help. Having read this and holding 2 RAD leader daggers that have 2 very diferent etches I am begining to feel frustrated.

Were there many various etches on those or is one of them post war/ laser etched? Thay can not both be good?

OK, will get in some more details of the motto etch. I sugest you focus on the A and the top finish of the letters b, d, l - they are totally diferent style. On the picture above the top one is Alcoso and the buttom one is with no MM.

Overlord, up to now I have never heard of nor seen an RAD leader without mm. But naturally I do not know all. At least such a hewer would need intensive inspection for me. Have other collectors seen a non mm RAD leader hewer or heard of any???

The certain hewer does look homogene (at least from these pics), nicely patinated and does look in no way faked. Also the etching itself does not show me a "red flag", differences in form of the letters and depth of etching can occur. The main difference in the look of these two etchings imo is because the one above looks kind of polished and worn during the time while the other one still has the more frosted look of a widely untouched etching.
So let us focus on the blade itself. Although I am nearly always against disassambling and messing around I personally would CAREFULLY and with the PROPER instruments take off the grip plates. I think fixing of the blade to the metal grip could tell us the story.
But before you do this, please take a photograph of the section of the crossguard where it meets the scabbard. Hard to photograph but perhaps it is working.
And one photograph of the blade where normally a mm is placed.

Hi Wotan, Paul Hogle at Lakeside Trader has an unmarked RAD leader on his site. It's a beauty as I had this in hand when he acquired it. It was a piece that came from my area and was a vet purchased item.

Hello Ed, thank you very much for this hint. I was not aware of it. As said the one shown here looks like a nice homogene one and so is the one at Lakesides. Interesting to know that Lakesides one is a true vet purchase, so these unmarked ones seem to be rare but totally legit.
When you examine these two unmarked daggers the hilt and the etching (I was not able to compare the type of the scabbards) looks the same to me.

Already before I saw the pic with the mm I thought "textbook original WKC".
