New here, A friend of our family is wanting to sell some of her dads collection. I need to try to find the value. Are these pre-WW 1 or between the wars? First one is marked on the scabbard and hilt(?) 6 D 4.28 and is marked WK&G. has a eagle on the guard. Second one has lion head on the hilt, maked Ewald Cleff. Any information would be helpful. Are these common, rare? Some what in between? Thanks docfl

docfl,
Welcome!! And sorry for the delay. A very nice pair of Imperial era swords, the top one is a Prussian enlisted cavalry soldier's sword (dress/private purchase) for the Magdeburg Dragoon Regiment No. 6. And the second looks like an exceptionally nice (and harder to find) Infantry Officers saber from the state of Hesse. But unfortunately, I could not read the inscription on it using the images posted.
Best Regards, FP
