I have been collecting headgear for some time know. And very often I come by late war caps without logo inside. Many of these caps have something in common.
-They look like Erel caps in quality.
- They have black underside on visor, without the "waffle" pattern.
- They are very light weight.
I have belived that they are Erel caps, and that late in the war Erel did no longer print logo and stopped using vulkan fibre visors.
Untill today this has not been confirmed.
The cap on this image is a late war erel made late 44 or early 45. It has all the caracteristics of the above mentioned.
But it also has a logo printed. Erel sonderklasse ekstra. with a black sweath band.
And pressed paper visor.
And for you sceptics out there, yes the cap is 100% original.

Inside.
Here you see the black visor.
The sweath band is in three pieces. It has the standard fold over joint with X stitch. And a almoust invisible glue pressed joint who is only visible from the reverse side of band.
The lining is in champagne and grey silk.

Regarding my home page:
http://www.ww2visorcaps.com

The page has not been updated so often.
The reason for this is that I am working on a brand new site for my visor cap collection.
It will be ready some time this summer.

Kim,

Is there any way to get better/lighter photos of the inside of this visor? If there is a photo size restriction here, just email them to me.

To illustrate what I`m talking about.
Here is a Feldgendarmerie late war Erel cap without logo.
It has the same visor, weight and quality.
