Thanks for all the positive comments fellas. On the back of the vertical hanger clip there is a number "15 R". Any comments on this...could it be the price of the hanger?

Congrats to both Fitzer and Viper of their SS "sleeper" finds! Really tought to find a deal on the SS. When you do it's a real treat.
Viper was that the smooth tail you picked up at a pawn shop?

For me a Bker with the real taste, and not comparable with a complete stone mint SS dagger.
This one I really like ! Gratulations Fitzer for this one.

15R, I thought it is a price tag but it would be way to much (15 RM) for one hanger or even a dagger with hanger according to my SS-RZM and Kleiderkasse lists.

So I says to myself, self I have a pending deal with a well known militaria dealer in Toronto to trade a nice Boker with vertical hanger for a chained SS. I post on this forum for opinions and a guy posts that he saw the dagger. I agree to trade with the dealer and courier my chained to him upon my return from Lake Placid. I call the dealer upon my return and he tells me that he sold the dagger. Next thing I see the very dagger posted here. This ****s and it was underhanded!!!!!!!!! Talk about getting knifed in the back and screwed!!!!

Oh yeah Fitzer very nice dagger!!!!!!! Have we ever met and do we know each other? I would say that chances are that we do. I used to display at the Etobicoke show and I won the first Martin Kampmann award for best show display in the initial presentation year. You know the guy on the end row with all of the German daggers and then all of the political NSDAP visors and tunics.

ConfusedYou had better talk to the seller if indeed this is the same dagger. He did have this dagger on hold, but said the potential buyer couldn't come up with the funds. I only purchased it when it became available. I don't understand how you think you have been jillted and if you do the issue is obviously between between you and the seller.

Well I will tell you why...You knew the dagger, you knew the seller and you knew that I had posted about it. Yeah, you are correct its really between the seller and myself but he is incorrect. We had a deal to trade and also that I would purchase if the trade fell through. He tells me something different than your version and you post that you saw the dagger and next thing you purchase it. Can't help but be suspicious eh? Human nature

If you had a deal with the seller then why didn't he honour it? I did see a dagger at the Etobicoke show, but how was I to know it was the same one. Here is my quote from the other thread which you have reopened:

"I think I saw this dagger at the Toronto Military Show..its a very nice piece and all Boker. If it is, I think a straight trade would be fair given your description of the chained"

As you see I wasn't sure if this was the same dagger and you never responded that it was??

As I said, I purchased it from the seller when it was available. If I had known you had a deal with him, I would have laid off. According to the seller, the deal on the piece I purchased had expired. End of story.

Can you please advise me what the seller's version of the sale was and what you mean by my reputation preceding itself. I have saved all the emails pertaining to this sale so I have the correct version in case there is any doubt. Other than sour grapes, I really don't understand the reason for this attack? I will also be following up with Barry to find out more about the nature of his communications with you. I certainly don't like being accussed of back stabbing as that was never my intention. There were no sweetheart deals or anything else. I simply purchased an available dagger from a seller. Happens all the time.

Oh I have emailed the seller as well with your version about the buyer backing out because funds were not available. I have emailed him stating that this was never the case as a trade was proposed as opposed to cash so funds don't enter the picture. I did state from our first telephone exchange that I would take the dagger even if the trade did not work out. I emailed a few hours ago and as of yet have received no reply.

Ok..so why are you attacking me?. As I said this is an issue between you and the seller. As shown I had no idea this was same dagger and according to the seller it was available. I don't understand how I can be accused of back stabbing and sweetheart deals and quite frankly I want an apology.
