Hi guys.
I just interwieved my grandfather`s neighbour.
He entlisted at 16yrs old in freiwillige legion Norwegen late in Mittau. Later he joined reg.Norge and from there to the Norwegian SS skijegerbatalionen.

He had just done some signal work and was heading south when the russians attacked the hills of Kaprolat and Hasselmann and he avoided getting annihilated there.

He was on motorcycle coarse on a camp on Ullevoll when peace broke out.

He and a pal got civilian clothes and changed at Lutvann when the first norwegian flags where flying.
He hid his uniform in a stone fence. (Years later he found it again and removed with him some insignia).See pics!

He and his friend took a train together with released prisoners from straffange lager Grini from Oslo to Kr-sand. They were afraid of beeing recognised!
They baled out in Kr-sand and headed further south to their hometown.
Norwegian resistance had been at his parents house where he lived searching for him.
Later he turned himself in.

He showed me where he and other where imprisened in some german barrackes. They are gone now but bunker beside is still there.

He could recall when 2 ss men broke free and it was hell on earth until they where captured.

Before he enlisted waffen SS he told me that he saw this british bomber beeing shot down by german FLAK. One engeene is still in out there. See pics.

With borrowed uniform.To wear this you had to be over 18yrs.I was not member of N.S. but I was sentenced for beeing a member.Nothing to say or do,we where to be sentenced.
Pursecutor a pervert bastard whom later killed himself. His name was Hafting.
Cant remember if he was judged before killing himself.
It was "court", it was like that over whole Norway.

Mostly with cow wagons exept when traveled at sea with "Monte Rosa" to Oslo.
Vacation 24 days from arrival to mandal.
Travelled back with the ship SS-Donau.

Note: He told me that the ek1 and lapplandshield was not his and added just for fun. The ss buckle was a friends and the russian insignia was shipped to his parents from the front. The rest was found again in the stonefence at Lutvann.

Nice work Jotuntroll. It's important that these guys get their stories not only heard, but recorded. It's also nice to make them feel good about some of the things that the rest of the world has told them they need to be ashamed of. I'm sure he felt good having a fan to talk to about his very interesting life.
