If we leave out the rest of the SS collectables market and just compare posters for the sake of the exercise, this "De Stem Der SS" poster cost me about $700 and it was already linen backed (about $70 - $100 depending on where you get it done and how big the poster is).

If that particular Anton poster was the same price at $700 I would still pick the one I have as being more visually appealing. To me it is a more powerful poster.

In terms of how rare each one is I cannot really tell. Maybe the Anton one is the only one left on the planet and is worth $5000 - who knows.

Thanks Stephen. I think the seller wants too much for it but I'll see what happens.

He did send me a better photo of it. I admit it is a killer poster (no pun intended)

Tony thank you for your oppinion and I agree with it. You are also right about that poster it is VERY powerful and very appealing. 5K is high, but I have never seen another one for sale so I was just wondering about apprasial value. But I guess with most highly rare items, beauty (value) is in the eye of the beholder.

Hi Jeff, you are correct about beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder.

Maybe it is just the way the photo is taken to keep the glare off the glass, but that poster looks a bit flat to me. The black and white one that started the thread seems more appealing.

Anton did some great SS posters such as the HJ/SS enlistment ones. I don't think I've seen any SS posters as dramatic as the red dragon poster though.

Tony

I convinced myself to finally buy the dragon poster after negotiating with the seller.

So it is added to my small collection of originals.

Thanks for the comments - I'm glad everyone enjoyed seeing them.

Bill - I really like that one too. It is also one of the few Third Reich posters I have not seen reproduced.......yet.

Hi Norge - your photo makes that poster look a 1000% better. Nice poster.

Stephen - do you mean the collage of all the posters together? To do that I use Photoshop. It is just a matter of resizing the photos to roughly the same size and then cutting and pasting them together.

Tony

great posters Patrick.

I always liked the art deco "Nederlanders" one - a very inspiring piece of artwork.
