Hi guys ,new arrival bag is a wee bit tatty but it has done its job well as the sword is fab ! What do you think of the knot which is bigger than usual and the strap wider than usual and three silver stripes not the usual two ?

Nice Wrangel patten saber. Pristine condition. the portepee is fine. The 3 strand, larger girth knots really look nice.

Congrats on a winner.

Nice rig. Nothing wrong with that knot, just a larger variation.

Perfect resting spot as well. All nice sabers should be placed on a soft pillow, down filled and soft preferable Wink

Thanks for your help guys, how common are the bags ?

Groovy score. As Barry says, the knot is fine.
Getting a decent bag is a good thing.Plenty of "ratty" examples around.
Got a minty Voos lionhead w/ bag years ago.
Enjoy!

The original issue bags are nice. A great addition when the whole package comes together. The only issue I have with them is the inability to display them. That being said, I don't turn 'em down when they come along. Store them well, with herbal moth repellant, keep 'em mold free and when the time comes to sell the piece, the bag should help command a bit higher of a premium.

As far as commonality/rarity, i'd list them as difficult to find...especially when with thier oiginal and respective saber. Here and there Eickhorn bags pop up for sale. There were a few on fleabay in recent weeks. It was seldom that vets brought home the bag, saber and knot all together.

George-
Nice. They have that charaterized Voos eagle and langet. Both in wonderful shape. I added one of the pieces with dual eagles in the last 6 months. On these Voos bags, are they externally marked as such for Voos?

No markings the I`ve ever found. Have a Pack bag, yellow w/red nomenclature. It`s a bit rough, but real!!
