Yes it was a great afternoon Big Grin
It does not have any manufactormarkings but is in a wery nice kondition.
I have been told that the portope can belong to firefighters sidearms, is that correct ?

You're correct, the knot would be correct for a fireman's bayonet.

The etch however is the pre-38 Luftwaffe edition produced by Robert Klaas.

I have a Wherpass for a Luftwaffe fireman. Maybe one owned this bayonet.

Walt,

An excellent point, I've seen Luft fire helmets often enough too. I was initially inclined to think whatever knot a serviceman would use would relate to the bayonet type itself and not necessarily the particular branch of service they were in (Luft, Feuerwehr, etc) but I wager anything's possible. I've got a polizei bayonet with an original SS NCO knot, so that shoots my theory to hell Smile
