Hi All,
Picked up this RN Sword and am trying to figure the approx. date of it. The blade appears to be Eickhorn made as it has the squirrel TM similar to that used by Eickhorn pre Third Reich times. The sword to my way of thinking appears later but I might be wrong. Any ideas to this TM date as used on RN Swords?
Thanks in advance!

While really not that familiar with swords, I will quote from Johnson Volume 3.

On page 189, Johnson shows a similar trademark with the initials CE below the squirel in a circle. His comment "The mark...appears in the March 11, 1926 Eickhorn sales catalogue"...A variation... without the initials CE, has been found on sabers of post war manufacturer".

So, it would appear this sword is from the 20's or after the 45's. However, this is just one resource.

Anyone else?

Jim
Thanks Jim! I think it fits the post-war frame - but just was curious about the Trademark used. You have explained that!

Thanks again!
