Ron,, I wasn't there,,,but from reports from 3 different collectors there,,, The ring front was a sad one.. HRs,,very few. Really I heard of only 2 good ones.. Maybe MilNut Andy can give a better report..
PP rings were worse! from reports,,most were fakes and fantasies. Probably not more than a handful of good ones.
Many like this,,over priced postwar pieces that just confused the unlearned ring collector..

Ross K had a researched TK ring. Went back 30 min later and it was long gone! $5500
Seen a few others but that file caught my eye with that TK ring. Got two quick pics but can't get them to size.

Ron it was the very controversial "Karl" ring, discussed on waf in detail. Here's some pictures

there was a lot of junk like this.. I wasn't there but had a couple guys sending photos ,,just noting really good there!

Yes Ross's HR almost sold a few times right away but it has problems and it ruined sales.. It did sell though from what I heard,,maybe someone got a great bargain and don't mind the problems..

Oh yes... saw these at max... I believe We even spoke with the seller, reputable man too. Seemed receptive to the commentary... but, here you go folks- the "best" part of the hobby. Still selling as original, quite pricey rings.... it never ceases to amaze me. I would call any of it dishonest per se... just unscrupulous. Sad. It's really sad.

Mike,,,I really just think its the dealers,,,they don't know what to think anymore! They get one guy coming up to them saying 'its good', another saying 'its bad'.. So what do they do?,,nothing! It stays for sale right where it was..

Andy's right.. This looks like one of the real early ones!. The kind actually made with barb wire material!

I technically didn't get this at the SOS but I bought it from someone while he was at the show. The silver content on the tag matches the mark on the ring. I had one with a 800 tag but 835 mark before.

Real nice looking one.

These tags.
Years ago i handeld about 50 to 60 of this mint tagged rings and not always the
Content mark fitted to the content on the tag although the rings were for sure
period and period tagged.
G. for 100 % will remember this rings.

Ive had that on two of the 5 rings. Tags both said 800, content was 835. I thought this was interesting because it was the exact pattern of one I had that was 835.

I think a fault while tagging in the factory
