Hard to say with this pics.
It should be a multi piece ring. Skull and band
soldered together at sides of skull and band should have a seam.

I think it is multi piece construction. I can see a seam joint on the back of the band and as far as I can see one of the soldering points is broken (a little). I hope to receive better pictures.

I see the join seam, but agree you need some better pictures. If it's good, that's a nice example!

Just a question of mine: Aren�t the marked areas typical casting marks?

You could be right Wotan.
But in my opinion this open work made bands are mostly cast. Skull die struck.
It is more easy to produce such items this way.
Very 3 dimensional items you can`t produce in die strucking.
At least i have a sure period similar ring with cast band.

Look for example at this unready ring, not military but impossible to produce in die strucking.
