Gorgeous rings! More tr needed in collection!
I don't really collect them,,but I have some.. My Uncles bought/traded for some when they were in Italy fighting and France on leave..
This one is one of my Uncles.. I thought it was a professionally made ring just hand cut on the cartouche,,but no..
He told me he traded a couple German medals for this [even came in a box!] It is all custom made,,out of steel and a bit of chrome plating [which he said came off in 2 weeks!]...
Paris 1945
and this one,,well I actually bought this one!
I used to have a large collection of Wolchowstocks [25]. Here is an old article I wrote a few years ago:
http://www.thirdreicharts.com/engine/inspect.asp?Item=1040&Filter=Gallery Now I still have 6 of my favorites,,,anyway. So I got this ring,,low grade silver,,put together firmly/nicely..
1941 Wolchow 1943
Nice rings g, guys check the article link... Great sign picture/article title....
Nice rings Gaspare! I always like when there is a story attached, and if its family it makes it even better. Here's my 1945 Paris of chromed brass. I have seen another one just like your pattern as well as a couple other designs.
D41,,,Wow, very similar!! Yours is nice,,looks like most of plating still on....
OK, here's 2 more from my Uncles collection. My family is Sicilian so you know he had to get a couple! I think the Palermo ring he bought [or traded] and had to come back a few days later to pick it up...
Both brass with a light chrome [?] plate on them:
Some rings were already made up,,or you could get whatever you wanted on them, with a little time.. Most had the city or country,,some had dates, military unit names put on etc.
Nice heavy rings man, good keepers!
Round 4 mixed bag of tricks: 1945 Philippines in silver
1945 Philippines in silver with gilt shooting star
Trench art 1st division "Big Red One"
5th army Monte Cassino 1944 ring
