hi guys got these helmets today and am hoping they are ok, any help is appreciated, thanks
the shako is marked on the inside with "friedrich becker and co.kg, berlin, original vupa"
the cockade is marked b.w assman and sonn
the army helmet is 732 on the rear rim, and q62 on the left side by the chin strap,
the liner band is marked schubertwerke kg, drp 1939, braunschweig
i would almost say the shako body is post ww ii,,,helmet looks good,,,
i saw a shako like this on germania international, and they said it was a transitional helmet worn by the berlin police, what would make it post ww11?
The Shako could be a post war piece with a nazi Eagle atached ,is there a date on the back of the cockade or any markings under the leather liner ? .The helmet pictures are a bit too small and blurry but it looks ok . Rob
i would say the shako liner is the wrong color for one,,,i have'nt seen a ww ii era shako with this beigeish color liner ever,,it may exist, but i just have'nt ever seen one,,,
hi guys thanks a lot for your responses, i have had a look inside the liner, it has its size hand written it and a round eagle and swastika stamp which i cant make out, there is no date on the cockade,
can you post a pic of the eagle stamp???...Thanks,,Robert
hi robert,
heres some pics of the eagle, i have wrote this helmet off as a post war copy, we all live and learn, i have to stop getting excited every time and see stuff, and stop buying crap.
