I would welcome any comments and opinions on these two KS98 bayonets. The first has an HJ diamond and a wide fuller. It is the longer version and has a Weyersberg mark. It also has
repaired damage to the reverse grip.........
The second is an unmarked short version with a Totenkopf emblem, and I can't find a reference to one like this. I realise this is the HJ forum,
but this one is available with the HJ.

Hello "AA",

This HJ-diamond is a not authentic.
The broken reverse grip plate also seems to indicate that this bayonet has been "played" with.

Best greetings,

Herman

Thanks for the HJ opinions, any comments on the
Totenkopf one?

I completely agree with my colleagues on the HJ, a repaired grip plate is always a glaring red flag on these pieces with postwar added grip emblems.

Can you tell how the totenkopf emblem is affixed to the grip? Is it tight or is there a little play when it's touched?

Billy G,
I'm afraid these are all the pics I have. Don't know if there is any movement in the Totenkopf
emblem - I presume if original, it would have been pinned, so there should be a bit of movement if it is correct?
I will try and find out.
