Can anyone identify the maker of this dagger? I cannot see a makers mark on the blade, but the cross guard, pommel and scabbard appear to be quite distinctive. I was wondering whether it is a Henckels.

These are Pack 1st type fittings used by many small and larger producers initially.. need to see the scabbard closer up to see if it is appropriate.. Kevin.

Hi Kevin,

I attach a photo of the blade. It's not a Pack.

Is Grafrath a rare maker?

Best regards

I would think that Grafrath is a very rare maker indeed.

I paid about $500 for it, so not cheap, but I have never seen this maker before.

If you collect army daggers by maker mark this certainly would be one of the key pieces. Very rare maker mark. Seems this company had several different variation marks. At first glance they appear the same but upon close inspection they vary in proportion. I have two other pictures of this mark in my archives. I have complied them all together for your comparison.
