Need opinions and possibly value on SA uniform. I bought this with some SA daggers a while back and have never done anything with it. My knowledge of SA uniforms is even less than my knowledge of daggers, anyway, I probably will sell it if I can figure out a fair price. Any help will be appreciated, Thanks, Larry

It looks pretty good, although the board doesn't match the tabs--it's for a reserve unit, whereas the tabs are not. I would say the tabs may have been added post 45, as they appear to be machine sewn judging by the fading of the shirt itself and the collar piping, and the lack of fading of the board and tabs. That said, all of the parts and pieces appear original to me based on these photos, with the possible exception of the necktie.

Here are some additional photos. There are no RZM or makers marks other than on the tie and belt.

The tie is definitely a fake--these are retailed by a French dealer. The tabs are most likely added to the shirt--they should be hand stitched per regulation, as they would be removed when the shirt was laundered. The correct tabs would be grey to match the underlay of the shoulderboard. Conversely, the board would have an orange underlay to match the tabs. The whistle I'm not sure about--I've seen a few like it but don't know if the SA runic pressing is original to it or not.
Breeches and the shirt itself are original as is the shirt piping. Is the Wehrsport badge magnetic? If so, it's probably a good bronze class without the finish.

The NSDAP member pin in the tie looks iffy, or it could just be early with the oval "O". Do you have a shot of the back?

The sport badge is magnetic. Here is a photo of the back of the party badge.

Thanks to everyone that responded. I am glad to know that for the most part it is real, though an assembled example, with the exception of the tie. I went to the recommended web site and found that they would probably sell this for about $2300 retail. I am going to list it on the for sale site and see if anyone is interested. Thanks again for your comments. Larry

$2500 would be overpriced, even if all the items were original to the tunic.

A European retail site is not exactly the best place to price out items IMHO.Collector prices in NA are much different.

I agree regarding European retail sites; however, since I couldn't find any other comparables I had to go with what I could find. I discounted the price quite a bit from that. Now I guess the price will be set by whoever (if anyone)cares to own the uniform in its current configuration.

Thanks

Dear oh dear you get castigated for trying to help now what is wrong with the whingers on this site?
Just because the vets got it for nothing doesn't mean we should remember we are all dealing effectively with stolen goods!
Yes I remember SA at $15 and SS at $30 and I wish I had kept those I just bought a mint NSKK chained for $4500 the last one I bought was $300 in 1972
Hindsight eh happy collecting everybody

AJ, I don't think any one was castigating you. Certainly not I. I think that another poster just has an opinion regarding relative local markets based on his experience. I appreciated your help and used the source you recommended. I appreciated the input from the other poster and took into consideration the problems pointed out by all those who were good enough to respond. If there was a misunderstanding I apologize and hope to be more clear in the future.

Thanks again to all who helped me.

Yes, the best way to judge the collector market for these items, is to see what a collector will pay.

Makes sense in this economy..

AJ; I was just commenting on the fact that retail prices in Europe are different than NA prices..and that is true no matter what the period may be! cool
