After a search here,
I came to the conclusion this # is bogus?
This seller offers twice the price back if not genuine.
twice
of course then to prove to him that didn't exist..?

m1/129?
He has several different pins with this exact mark.
They appear to be selling well.
They look tempting/convincing to me?
two hours left in the bay.

The baseplate holding the pin on was a style not used during the 3rd reich, it's post war.

All types of pins with the M1/129 maker mark are being produced as I type this post, for under 10 bucks in some cases.

Did M1/129 (Seiler & Co, Geldem) produce any real items?

Laurence as far as I know, no, we've never seen an original M1/129, the maker did have a license with the RZM to produce but never did, anyone feel free to correct me.

(PINS - I'm talking about)

thanks

Thanks Jamie. The reason I asked was that the book I have on party badges - NSDAP Enamel by Micheal F Tucker - had their RZM number listed.

Quite right - we have a contest each year to see if anyone can produce a real M1/129 enamel pin, and no winners so far.

It was issued (around 1938) as an RZM license, but doesn't appear to have been ever used. Maybe they went out of business, merged or decided to produce something else after getting the M1 license, but nothing has turned up with this maker (except for fakes).

I was told this type of badge was never produced wartime! Any truth to that? I have one that has no markings on the back.

Hi Stephen

Does your RZM book have the listing's for the "A" codes?
Posted By: J.R.Scott Re: RZM M1/129 tk pin - 03/04/2009 09:26 PM
I think Stephen once stated that since the RZM license M1/129 was issued and no pins produced, it left the field wide open for the fakers to have a hay day producing fake pins with nothing to compare them to. A good theory I think.

Hi Lawrence,

My book only deals with the "M" codes and general history of the RZM itself.

To answer the bigger questions, this is a pure fantasy badge - never existed. Plus, the "coffin-shaped" pinplate is only found on modern fakes.

The bottom line is when looking at any SS badge or it should NEVER have an RZM marking.

Great point Erich
