Hey guys I am just wondering if you could fill me in on this SS full rohm. My questions are is it real, is there any thing that looks fishy, and is it worth 3,600 us dollars? A guy is interested in selling it and i just want to hear what you guys think, these are the pics he gave me.

Rex Reddick blade and appears post war grip as well. Closer shots of the grip will tell.

IMO: It's an under $1000 "filler" if you want it. BTW: The lower crossguard to upper scabbard fit also appears to be poor.

Isn't it a proof of an unoriginal blade when the last word in the motto "Treue" is THIS far from the lower crossguard?

Don't buy it! The guys are right. A Reddick (repro) blade, for sure. The other bits and pieces are in pretty poor condition, to boot.

OU812 the motto is 35mm from crossguard on Eickhorn Rohms and the trademark is nearer the crossguard than usual this ones trademark is too far from crossguard but the motto is is about right still a Reddick leave it alone

Sight unseen, it is fake untill proven otherwise at $3,000+ US. If someone puts it up there for that price I bet the farm they know it is a fake. On the other hand if it is $500US then yes they may not have a clue and maybe the deal of the year! You must understand the mind of a criminal,ie the faker who knows it is a fake! He will set the price so that you think you are getting a deal too good to be true. He figures that you will assume a fake at $500 so he goes under the $8,000-$10,000 price and you do go for it. Has anyone ever seen a full SS Rohm on the net or dealer site for $500(fake?) David

AJ

I believe we have a SERIOUS problem with some VERY expensive daggers where the positioning of the motto doesn't look good:

PLEASE correct me if I am wrong.

Jesper

The links you've provided all appear to be typical Eickhorn in terms of their lower motto position consistent with thier Rohms and Himmlers, also the position of the maker mark close to the crossguard mas AJ pointed out. The one shown in this thread has the maker mark positioned far fram the crossguards which is a hallmark of the Reddick repros.
