Here's a pic from the book "trench" by Stephen bull I've been reading- Two Kiwis holding a captured--- anti-TANK (?!) gun! Can anyone tell me more about it? Thank you!

There was a similar rifle Built by the British in WWII. The Boys .55 anti-tank rifle. Used by several countries including the US>

The story is the Pershing got one of the rounds of the rifle and was so impressed that he sent it home for development. And the US came up with the .50 caliber HMG.
