Here is my early Hammesfahr. Untouched with nice dull patina on the crossguards and some of the "green stuff" on the scabbard fittings. Original hanger that has never been off the piece, and the dagger has never been taken apart. Un-messed with for 60+ years. I really like the blade on this piece, nicest SS blade I have ever owned.
99% anodization on scabbard with nice patina on fittings. Hanger original to piece and never been off of it!
If the rest of it is as nice as the blade...that is a sweetheart!!!
Wow,
I have to stop looking in this forum! It is PAINFUL to see such pieces without owning one! Congrats, on a VERY nice dagger!!!
Did this one come from Gailen by any chance?
Thanks guys. The rest of the dagger is nice, but it is the blade that really gets me. 100% cross grain from cross guard to tip, with no greying. It has the runes button turned slightly, which I have seen on a few other early Hammesfahrs also. Grip fits very nice, and the only minor annoyance is that there is some wear to the grip eagle. It is not bad, but the detail is not all there. Seems like it was rubbed quite a bit in wear.
Dang, Kory I can see why you wanted this, this is a A1 Hammesfahr can you tell us more about were you ran across such a quality SS dagger like this one. Very impressive!!
Nice one Kory!

Looks like a keeper to me!
Thanks guys. Yes, this one did come through Gailen. Nothing gets by you Skyline!
Next to a minty SA blade for comparison. Sneaking an SA on to the SS forum.... Sadly the only 2 real minty blades I own (except for a sword).
Beautiful pieces ! Don't feel sad, feel fortunet as prices on both SA's and SS's in this condition will place them beyond the reach of many.
Thanks for shareing !
Nice Hammesfahr in superb condition.
