If it came from Patrice one can be certain it is top shelf. His reputation as one of the most demanding collectors as regards condition is well known. That is one spectacular blade.

Congratulations!

Superb example! My first was also a Klass purchased in 1968 in about the same condition. Wish I still had it but I am happy with my minty RZM. Congrats to you on this one!

Thank you Mark for the kind words.

This SS EM is trully a beauty and has the nicest grip that I have ever seen on any dagger.
I was glad to send this one to my friend in England. I know that he will enjoy it and that it is in a good home ! Wink

From what we can see of that grip it certainly does look wonderful. Perhaps Paul might give us a picture of the complete grip?

Hard to believe you upgraded it Pat, maybe you lost interest & are are down-sizing? ......JOKE! Big Grin

Paul is to be congratulated on a very fine dagger indeed.

A stunning grip with a perfect fit.
Boker wasn't alone making nice grips.
I was glad to help my friend. Smile

There is a bit of a myth that Boker made the best early SS daggers. This is true. Boker did, indeed, assemble fantastic daggers.

But, so did the other early manufacturers. I have seen as many as most collectors and they are all works of art. Even after careless storage and poor handling they are great daggers.

The only early maker with a spotty record is Eickhorn. I have seen quite a few with a less than pristine blade to crossguard or grip to crossguard fit.

From my years of experience with SS Daggers, Pack seems to have the best workmanship and, for some unknown reason, their blades seemed to resist the spotting and pitting the best,

Wonderful grip with perfect fits & shaping to the shoulders. Really so pleasurable to see such craftsmanship.

As far as the early pieces are concerned I have never thought there was anything in a name & that it is all a matter of personal preference. Condition is everything when you are investing in one of these.

Here's another picture showing Paul's fantastic grip on his SS EM.
