Nice job TFL:
It looks like you had to fabricate a new throat and also make up some replacement metal for the scabbard body. Is this correct?

That is correct! I was able to utilize most of the existing metal on the scabbard body and weld it up then redo the pebbling and grooves.

Some of the damage can still be detected. But it is usable again. 3FL

The person I got it from thought I was insane, and told me so! But sold it to me fo $25.00! I sent him some pics of it now and he wants it back because he has the dagger and no scabbard. I told him Sure! For $400.00! I also told him I would give HIM $25.00 for the Dagger! ;^)

Hey Guys, Just an update! Believe it or not, I got the dagger off the guy I bought the scabbard from. NOT for $25.00 but not too bad, $450! So I ended up with a NICE DRK Dagger for $475.00 I don't even know what these are going for nowadays. Plating on the blade is kind of peeling in a couple of very small spots but everything else is close to pristine. Did I do OK?

Looks like you got it at a 2/3 discount. Great restoration on the scabbard.

Super Jim, Thanks! I didn't think I got beat up! But he was in the position of having a dagger with no scabbard so, I don't think he got killed either. 3FL

As soon as it gets here I will post pics of the dagger for you guys and see what you think of it. should be sometime this afternoon. See ya then! 3FL
