Hi eric
Can you get a good detail shot of the tang and any markings on it?

I have never taken one apart, dont you have to have a special wrench or tool? The dealer i got it from years ago said he took it apart to check tang and said it was correctly marked,I might try and take the grip off for a pic.

First it looks good , but on the other side , the swastika in the eagles feet ist a little low.The "M" in the maker mark looks cheap , too. I am not sure. Wait for the answer from Mr.Dave Hohaus . Regards.

deutscher,i didnt see your post as it was a minute before my last one. What do you mean that the swastika is too low in the eagles feet? Its in a wreath,it looks perfectly purportioned to me. What do you mean the M is sloppy, you mean the M in the rzm mark?I dont know how it could be etched any better.I appreciate your opinion,i just dont know what you mean.

Eric,
Your dagger is 100% OK. Everything looks exactly as it should.
If you need to take it apart, find a 3/8" wrench and grind it very flat so it will fit.

Thanks alot Dave&everyone.I am going to "make" a wrench for it out of a regular wrench(good idea Dave),dont wanta use vice grips or plyers on a ss dagger!I may have paid too much for it(1000.00) but i wanted a halfway nice example of one.

Be careful when removing the tang nut with a foreign type ground down tool. Do yourself a favor put a piece of tape on the flat side of the wrench that will be facing down toward the top of the crossguard. The tape will stop any "swirl marks" you accidentally put on the top of your cross guard from the metal wrench when you loosen it. You can see what to many "in and outs" can do to your blade coming out of the scabbard,,,right? Be overprotective this is your investment! Best Larry
