Mike, Mikee and Militarynut, thank you for your comments. As you wished, I had to dig a little deeper to gather all my boxes (and naturally rings wink ) in one pic.... By far not so much as some prominent ring collectors and book writers are known to have but nevertheless I hope you enjoy them.
There is at least one SD man and one DKiG wearer between them who have been for sure no paper pushers....
Regards.

Thank you for looking and your kind words.
As we all know, while rings are available, these ring boxes are next to impossible to get...

I have seen some ring collectors buy a piece because of a box.. This boxed ring the buyer and I both agreed,,,the ring is not for this box..
- Although the box is period the ring is also but a very inexpensive stamped 'messing' ring with black paint... The box was large,, leatherette outer,,satin inner, with metal sprung lid.. - Back then that ring probably cost as mush as the box!

Still in all,,a nice ring and a very nice box:

years ago I discovered a load of 'New Old Stock' rings... Odal had helped with the deal as it was in Germany and so was he! Really, without Odal I probably couldn't have got the load.

But even with his help we still had one problem,,,,,even with the both of us putting our money together we did not have enough to buy them..
SO, we had to find an investor,,which we did and were able to acquire the load! It ended up with the investor getting most of the rings. We had first choice though [very important] which was how the negotiations went.

Odal and I got about 5 mint stock tagged rings each,,, and we each got 2 cased rings... Here's one of mine...

As far as I know the investor still has about 40 rings and haas no inclination to sell... They just put away for a future rainy day [?]

and lastly,,,,

- check out the ring holder,,it is a thin piece of sprung metal under the velvet. The ring slides over it and the tension hold the ring in.. this was usually in the earlier boxes..

Interesting topic Gaspare. The only box I have that actually came with a ring in it is this one. I love this Kirkenes ring but have no idea if it's the box it originally came in. There is no information on it whatsoever but it's a nice box. Looks old to me.

Great boxes guys!!

- Its a bit confusing..

Some retail shops sold a bit of everything from household goods to back packs etc etc. So they would order their rings from a manufacturer. when the ring arrived they put it in their box!

Some manufactures just made jewelry and sold wholesale only to retailers.... Then you had the fancy guys like ,,lets say Wilm. They have a showroom,,your in it and buy a ring you might get a Wilm box!

OR,,,Wilm sends an order of 20 rings to a retailer. The retailer receives the order takes the Wilm boxes off and puts the ring in their store brand box!!

- SO really,,you can have any box and any ring in it [except an Honor ring!]. ...

Ric , Its hard to see on the monitor: but,,thats a small box with a great ring in it! - And the retailer pulled it off! - Its a hi quality box, has a 'mock Turtle pattern on the outer,,pebbled inner, the retailers name and address in Gold tone lettering...Spectacular nice little box!

- The ring appears to be authentic. Has a lot of old built up polish on it... Are you going to leave be? or maybe steam it away at the jewelers?

Hello G.,

when I got it in hand did brush that white dust away by a soft tooth brush.......and here's the bird after treatment.

Box and ring are in unissued condition....and would bet they were together from the jeweler.
