I got information that our former member FORD CREWS has passed away not long ago. I am sure a lot of collectors and especially elder members do remember him well.
To my best knowledge he has been a very ardent and ambitious collector of army daggers and has been able to find out several specific unknown or disregarded details related to such daggers.
Unfortunately he has left our forum because of an ugly quarrel (which has often been the reason at these days which had caused a loss of many, very advanced collectors) and how hard and polite I have tried, I could not make him reverse his decision - a disaster for the forum and collectors.
My thoughts are with him and his family!
Regards,

Very sad to hear
And it is just a hobby
I hope we can all remember that and keep it in its proper perspective
We can not take it with us at the end of the day
Deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones

Sounds as if there was a lot to learn from this guy and he was a credit to the forum and the hobby in general.
Rest in peace fellow collector.

yes remember seeing him here and his posts.. Sorry to hear of it..

Barto, Boyd, Stump and the rest of the list in this forum. frown .. Keeps getting bigger and nothing we can do to stop it..

Would be great if there was a museum somewhere where we could each donate our favorite piece and the museum would list the name of the collector...
anyway,,,
RIP Ford Crews

Ford Crews will be missed. He was someone I very much admired and respected. He was IMO one of the worlds most respected German army dagger collectors and researcher. I also understand he had a fabulous gun collection. Over the years we have exchanged many emails discussing army dagger variations and I will truly miss his presence in the hobby.
