Mike,, passing thru,,,, - I think we have a Div. / Unit . ring topic somewhere else,,,
Way to go is to try and find that topic and add you new baby to it... I really need one of these patterns. I haven't been on the hunt for a long time but eventually one will pass my way for fair money or a trade or something... Good things come to those who wait[?] is that the right quote? or am I way off laugh

Got so much to do [book due end of Aug.!] but hope to actively get back in the hunt for rings again at the start of the MAX..

But you guys keep on a going!! your all doing great and finding some really nice rings!!!! , go get them!!!

Hard to get stuff and not easy to find.
I am myself on the hunt to get a nice one.
Congrats Mike to this nice ring!

Oh man Ric nice!,, This one I've been wanting a long time,,maybe someday..

Unit , or group rings. Imagine - you would have to get how many of the unit wanted them,,then all the different sizes. A jeweler would want money first! so money or a down payment would have to been collected and given to jeweler.

. I have heard a few stories. One is a rich commander had bought rings for his entire unit!,,another is what I explained above about getting order, money etc. - A retailer from the period had told me a officer had approached him and said how many in his unit would buy the ring IF he just went ahead and made them! A leap of faith for sure! But once the tooling was made,,well you could make 10, 30, even 100 rings ..
We'll probably never really know how this process worked out for a custom order ring, but they are out there..

This example is well made,,with enamel, has side band designs. Nice ring for a wartime produced example..
