Heres what I've found about this bracelet. It was apperently available in northern finland in 1943.
Walter rosenwald published a catalog that displays it. And a simmilar piece in poor shape without the bracelet itself was sold at a german auction. Here's a picture from the catalog

Two seperate collectors have tried to buy it from me, saying "name your price" .
But selling this is difficult, since the piece is so rare and in excelent condition.

A great collection you are developing, thank you for sharing it with us.

Here is a piece that I do not think has been shown here. It's listed on this website for 355 euro! http://www.suedsteiermarkversand.at/inde...rt&Itemid=7

Cheers

That would indeed be an interesting catalog to see.

The 43-44 Eismeer Front badge is a looker.

Hello.
I don't have the catalogue. Only these two pictures I got from a collector from finland who was trying to buy my friendship badge. I told him it's not for sale, and he wouldn't give me any more info on this

Here is a new one to me just in from the UK.

It is a travel badge to Olavinlinna.

Travel badges were originally made for tourists pre war as souvenirs of places they had visited. During the war time, these badges were sold to the soldiers, mostly German, who served in Finland as souvenirs.

It has been a while, but I finally found another travel pin to add to my Finland collection.

This pin depicts a polar bear coming out of the water and is from Jaamerentie Ishavsvagen, a tiny place close to Petsamo. This area was handed over to the Russians in the peace agreement of 1940 and is still part of Russia.

Also, a picture of my Finland travel badges and fobs and Nordfront Crosses.

Outstanding. Your collection has grown. I imagine it is difficult to add new pieces.

Thanks for sharing. The Ishavsvagen polar bear badge is a first time see for me.

I have found it very hard to find these Nordfront badges, especially the Lapplandfront versions.

Well, here is this 1941-44 black centred one for your perusal.

I know that these badges are heavily reproduced and have not seen the rear pin assembly like this one before.

What do you think of this?

The Eismeerfront and the Lapplandfront badges show the same shape but differ from the Nordfront badges in their shape.

I have also seen different pin configurations on these.

Another score off fleabay is this fob with three Finnish pins.

A Finnish flag, a Petsamo-Rovaniemi travel pin and a Finnish lion make up this fob.

I think these are neat.

Hello John,

I'm not seriously thinking about selling this badge, but I'm curious nature, you can send me an email and make a bid for Which I can hardly refuse smile

I noticed you have the corresponding Lapplandfront badge 1941-44. I have not seen such a nuts in these Badges earlier, but it still does not prove anything.

You could try either "Hopeatakomo Oy" or "Veljekset Sundqvist" nut.
Or Eismeerfront badge 1941-43 / 1941-44 nut without manufacturer marking for it.

I've seen both Lapplandfront and Eismeerfront Badges used at least in these three different kind of nuts.Threads vary by manufacturer.
Manufacturers have vary as well like the "Pohjoisrintama Die Nordfront" Badges. At least according to information that I have collected so far.

This badge came to me with the nut shown in the pictures, but it is also suitable for the "Hopeatakomo Oy" nut as well. I've tried and it works.

Kind regards

Rainer:

I acquired the 41-44 badge knowing that the nut was likely not a correct one for this badge. If a proper one cmoes along, I may look at upgrading to a more 'correct' version, but until then , I am happy to own this anyway.

Your pictures look great. Thank you for showing.

Do you or anyone else know why the white background Lapplandfront and Eismeerfront badges are so hard to find?

Hi John,

Just like I bought Lappland 1941-43, probably the wrong nut but the manufacturer is most obviously "Hopeatakomo Oy" in my case.

You are right, these badges are hard to find, so you are lucky to find this (1941-44 Lappland) one. And also both Black Eismeerfront versions smile

I don?t know why white background Badges are harder to find, I?m sorry but I can?t help on this issue at the moment.

Information these badges are difficult to get: The book by Jani Tiainen is attached. The following link is also interesting.
http://antique-photos.com/en/awards...-finland/383-german-finnish-crosses.html
But these were certainly familiar to you already.

Your message chain has been interesting to follow. I have tried to collect similar kind items like you. I focused mainly Nordfrond badges that are easier to find than Lappland and Eismeer ones.

Just arrived today are these two Finnish fobs.

The first one has two unique (to me) pins along with the pretty standard Petsamo-Rovaniemi one. The two are a new version of the Salla pin with rounded corners and one to the wilderness area of Tuntsa, which is in the municipality of Salla.

The second fob has the new rounded corner Salla pin, along with the standard Petsamo-Rovaniemi one and a red Lion, probably from a coat button.

Here are pictures of these fobs and the pins.
