Man, this things a crazy killer... so it's about a size 9 us men's- solid and HEAVY- probably 15-20 grams. Nice deep patina, greek key scrollwork on the shanks- and of course (soldered?) to the front- a massive totenkopf with red glass stones set in the eyes. Found this at a flea market with some miscellaneous militaria, mostly us, and I also grabbed the Hungarian scouts belt...(hey- somebody buy that!!) SO.... after some urging (Gaspare) I'm posting this bad boy... here's the other thing- the silver stamp looks really characteristic of the immediate postwar occupied Japan stamps that were on LOADS of us servicemens souvenir DI rings- some were for usn some were usmc some aaf- many were WW2 servicemen, like my uncle who stayed on until 47 in the pacific- my first thought was.... is this skull possibly a DI for an occupation unit?? (Research led me to confirm that there were MANY skull-based DIs.... ) so, I'm posting the ring (my pics) for comparison with some Korean skulls (courtesy etsy and eBay) my Korean War silver stamp - they all look like this : "SiLVER"- characteristic of the Japanese 45-53... also included are 2 of the same marks courtesy of a member here, dak41- who has the exact same stamps on his occupation era made DI rings for us GIs stationed there... whatever it is... it is COOOL!! Opinions welcome, and any research anyone may have (I know this isn't a german ring) would be greatly appreciated... but with the skull "cracks" looks like a panzer skull!! (It's probably not a panzer skull of course!)

Area of damage (ring hit or banged against something at the bottom- there is a small"nick" or dent) less patinated there, and some sun reflected (also my flash from camera in the darker one made it stand out more)

Nice items. The 1947 Korea skull really intrigues me. If not dated I would have thought it was a Raider ring!

For sure, it looks it.,. The red eyes I thought so too.,. it's made in occupied Japan likely 45-47. Raider is still possible, and considering the size, the boldness- totally the raider personality.
