1942 TUNIS AFRIKA ring.
mosque and palmtree front
nice moors head hallmark stamp on the shank

its amazing when you think of it,,the travel these guys did. Now its nothing to travel around the world,,but back then!!
At a dig years ago I was at I saw in a soldiers bread bag,,, we,,They,found a small container,,it had a Spiral WestWall ring,,a DAK ring and a skull ring.
They found him in Eastern Ukraine. SO - From way west,,North Afrika,,then way Eastern Europe! Thats a lot of miles. Bet hardly if any were by plane. All probably by boat,train, truck and the ole feet!
IF these rings could only talk,,imaging the stories we'd hear!

Well, that is one heck of a provenance on those rings. I agree, hard to believe how these things moved around. And as someone who collects campaign rings, it amazes me that there were soldiers stationed in almost every corner of the globe. Brings a new perspective on "world war".

Here's my new beauty- a Tripoli marked DAK. Excellent swas, too. Enormous piece- 18.2 grams- size 10.5 us. Beautiful color and perfect weight- a centerpiece ring for any DAK collection- I'm honored to have it!!

congrats on your nice find this africka corps ring its a beauty simular to mine that i picked up at the last sos show along with my ring marked iran remember i think i showed the members around march this year most of these rings were made for the german troops even some of the ss troops liked them we can never proove it belonged to any ss soldiers some believe that the ss was never there i believe some not all were there hey if you hurry up you might be able to catch up with odel even i cant catch him he is fast and he does find some intresting rings and jewelry god bless all andy militarynut
